Ash Kanwai is named after the demon who once lived in the lake. For years the demon lived in the lake after his own Ascent of Moksha led him down a path of gluttony and hunger. He ate the whole fish crop, starving Kala and all that reside inside it. After only a few years his lavish lifestyle left no fish in the lake so he journeyed to the surrounding forest to feast off of the wildlife. It was there that Ash Kanwai met a hunter who was filled with a passion for life and had a beauty unmatched by any other. Over the course of several months Ash Kanwai followed this hunter from afar until one day Ask Kanwai tamed himself for the love of the hunter.
For the first time in his life since the Ascent of Moksha Ash Kanwai had felt something other than greed. It was then that he lived off of his own fat and spent every possible moment with the hunter. The hunter journeyed to see him often, as the hunter aged he saw Ash Kanwai less and less. Then one day the hunter could not find Ash Kanwai in the woods or in the lake which shared his name. The hunter assumed that Ash Kanwai had journeyed to the Pool of the Ancients and Ash Kanwai hasn’t been seen since.
